About Jennifer Strickland

Best known for her passionate delivery and authentic storytelling, Jennifer Strickland captivates audiences with her life story as a former international model for Giorgio Armani, Vogue, Glamour, and more.  A published author, gifted teacher, wife and mother of three, Jennifer loves sharing the powerful stories of her experiences behind-the-scenes of the modeling industry, pointing her audience to a more positive view of women's real beauty and value. 

Represented by the top modeling agencies in the world, including FORD NYC, FORD L.A., FASHION Milan, Model Team Hamburg, NOVA Models of Munich, and Vivian's of Sydney, Australia, Jennifer knows all too well the inner workings of the most glamorized industry in the world. 

At eight years old, she began doing fashion shows, photo shoots, and mannequin modeling; at fifteen, she did her first television commercial; and at seventeen, she signed with the legendary Nina Blanchard Agency (now FORD L.A.).  Nina Blanchard names Jennifer "the Face of the 90's" and as soon as Jen graduated high school, she moved to Europe to work professionally. In the coming years, she lived and/or worked in Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Greece, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Seattle and several other American cities.

Jennifer did television commercials for Oil of O’lay, Mercedes Benz, Converse Tennis Shoes, Cherry Coke, Fanta Orange, Taco Bell and Vibrance shampoo; starred in music videos; appeared in Vogue, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, ‘Teen and more; did a high-profile fashion campaign for Jordache, regularly appeared in the Eddie Bauer catalogue, represented Elizabeth Arden and modeled the Crown Jewels in Australia.

At the height of her career, she walked the runway for Giorgio Armani in Milan, appeared as “Barbie” for the doll’s 35th anniversary in Italy, and was seen on the covers and pages of fashion magazines across Europe.

But Jennifer is NO Barbie!  While working as a model, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California, and after she left the fashion industry, she went back to school to get her Master's degree in Writing and Literature.

Family

During her years in the modeling industry, Jennifer longed for real love and fulfillment.  Today, she has that:  she is using her experiences to help others, and she is married to her best friend Shane.  Together, they have three children, Olivia, 10, Zach, 8, and Samuel, 6 months.  They live in North Texas.
